Over a decade in public service - as an MP and a cabinet minister- provided me with tremendous insight into how the political process in Canada works. I have started this blog and my webpage to share my opinions about matters that are important to Essex County and Windsor, and Ontario and Canada. Hopefully I can help everyone to see what is really happening in our country and separate the facts from the "spin".

We live in the best country in the world ! I have traveled to the poorest and to the richest countries, and I have absolutely not one ounce of doubt about this - Canada is the absolute best country in the world to live in.

As Canadians, we have a responsibility to those who came before us and created this great country - we also have a responsibility to those who will come after us. We must leave behind an even better country, if that is possible , by protecting all those Canadian values that make everyone a part of Canada.

I make no apologies about my passion for Canada, and my opinions, I am sure, will show this. You may not agree and I may not always be right, but on this page, be sure that I will speak up for Canada and for what I believe in.
